Maybelline Face Studio Duo Stick Review

November 17, 2016

Hi everyone..

Today I will review one the most talked product from one of my favourite brand Maybelline. Contouring still is not known by mat people in India. And the products which are there in Indian markets for contouring are mostly powder based. Maybelline has recently launched contouring and highlighting products in stick format and other in powder format and also they have launched blush in this range.

I bought the duo stick and the setting powered. Will review the setting powder soon.

Experience using Maybelline Face Studio Duo Stick

Dual stick comes in a black thick tube with caps on both sides. Stick is twist up type. One side is contouring and other side is highlighter. The stick is very travel friendly. It came with plastic packaging on the stick and all the instruction on how to use it is mentioned on it.

This sticks come sin 2 shades Light- Medium and Medium – Dark shade which is not good for all Indian skin complexion. I picked up Medium- Dark Shade. The contour stick is that dark as it is supposed to be. When I apply on my skin it is not that dark as I was expecting a contouring stick to be.

The texture if the product is creamy which blends easily on face. I don’t use brush or beauty blender my fingers are enough to blend on my face.

The highlighter has shimmer which looks pretty after application on the face. It gives glow on face. Highlighter is pretty good and I am happy with it.

The contour part which I am not happy about doesn’t actually give me a contoured face after application because it’s not dark. This contour part has no shimmer which is good.

For beginners this is a good product to start up with to practice. It doesn’t feel heavy on face after application. I have very oily skin so after few hours it started to make my skin look bit oily. It will suit for dry skin better I feel. As this product is creamy you got to apply the setting powder to finish the look.

Staying power is also decent it stayed almost 5 to 6 hours on my face. You need to set it with the setting powder for making it stay longer on face.

Overall it’s a decent product and I am only happy with the highlighter not with the contouring stick.

Recommendation-

I will recommend this duo stick especially for beginners because it’s two in 1 stick easy to carry and the texture is smooth and creamy. Can skip beauty blender and brush. It’s easy to apply and stays for decent time. Highlighter is pigmented and gives a glow on face whereas the contouring stick is not that pigmented to give that perfect contoured look on face. Overall a decent product and can be given a try.

Hope you like the review. If you have tried this product let me know how was the experience using it.
