Simple and Easy Makeup Hacks

September 2, 2016

Hi all..

Here are the few makeup hacks which you can use to fix your makeup. They are simple and very effective.

  • Use spoon for easy winged eyeliner. Holding the stem of a spoon against the outer corner of your eye, draw the straight line as the first step for your cat-eye. Then, flip the spoon so it’s hugging your eyelid, and use the rounded outer edge to create a perfectly curved winged effect.

  • Avoid shimmer products on oily face. Instead of that use matte blushes or bronzers and concealer one shade lighter than you skin tone for highlighting for the same effect.

  • Use white eyeliner to really make your eyes pop.

  • Use spoon to avoid mascara marks on your upper eye lid. Hold the spoon near eyelid, and then apply mascara like you normally would. As you sweep the mascara wand against your lashes and back of the spoon, watch as the residue coats the back of the utensil rather than your skin.

  • Mix a little peppermint oil into your lip gloss to give your lips a plumping boost.

  • If you accidentally purchase a foundation that’s too dark, adding a bit of moisturizer to your mix can help lighten it.

  • If you want to fake fuller lips, applying light lip pencil in the centre of your lips will do the trick.

  • Keep Nail polish in the fridge to avoid bubble while applying nail polish.

  • Use a business card or credit card to get the best mascara line.

  • Always wash you makeup brushes with gentle face wash.

  • Apply highlighter above the brows to instantly life the eyes.

  • For long-lasting lipstick, swipe the lipstick on lips and lay a tissue over lips and then dust translucent powder over it to set the lipstick.

  • To fix the broken lipstick use the lighter to melt the bottom of the broke piece. Reattach to the stick, hold in place and put in fridge few hours.

  • Heat your lash curler by blow dryer to curl your lash it looks more effective and curl it soon.

  • For natural and effective removing makeup use pure coconut oil.

  • Mix loose eye shadow with petroleum jelly or Vaseline to make you own lipstick.

  • Apply foundation before concealer. If foundation is used before concealer you don’t have to use much concealer.

  • Conceal dark circles right way by creating a triangle with concealer or colour corrector. Best way to apply it in a triangular formation and the point toward the bottom of your cheek. This shape helps conceal any redness at the bottom of your eye and at the sides, and then instantly creates the illusion that your face is lifted.

  • You can use Apple cider vinegar as a toner for oily skin. Mix water with apple cider vinegar or green tea as a toner before applying moisturiser. This balances the pH level of skin.

  • Turn pencil eyeliner into a gel formula with the help of lighter. Put the lighter on the pencil eyeliner for 1 or 2 seconds and wait for 15 to 20 seconds ad hen you will see the consistency of the eyeliner is gel like and can use as gel eyeliner.

  • When it comes to highlighting, focus on the area under your eyes in an upside-down triangle shape and along your brow bone to brighten your eyes. Then do the middle of your forehead and the middle of your chin to help broaden these naturally narrow areas.

  • Always test the foundation on your neck not on the face before buying. The skin on the face due to sun exposes or break outs isn’t the same colour as the rest of the body. So if you match your foundation on cheeks you might end up buying the shade that doesn’t match neck and chest and doesn’t look natural. Swipe three shades of foundation right below the jawline and blend them whichever shade disappears that one you should choose.

  • Use Orange or Green colour corrector to balance out undertones. If you have red pimple use green corrector, it tones down the redness. Use orange corrector for dark circles and any dark acne or pigmented marks on face.

  • Apply bronzer in a 3 shape for quick contour. Never apply bronzer on full face. Apply it in the shape of 3 over your forehead, cheekbones and jawline.

  • To make less pigmented eye shadow to look more colourful on eyelid, take a white eye liner pencil and run it over your entire eyelid. The opaque consistency of the liner will intensify eye shadow and make it look more pigmented and will pop instantly against your face.

  • Apply the foundation first on the centre of the face and then blend out. If you apply foundation around your jawline or hair line it will look as if you are wearing a mask. But if you start from the centre of the face the foundation will fade out around the edges giving it a more natural look.
