11 Essential Monsoon Hair Care Tips

It’s monsoons and everything looks beautiful in monsoons. We all love to get drenched sometimes in rain but Rain water is not the best for your hair, which can lead to many hair troubles.  Today i will be sharing 11 Essential Monsoon Hair Care Tips which you can follow to have healthy hairs in monsoons.

The rain can cause havoc for your hair if you are not careful. One of the most common problems faced during the monsoon is hair fall. This happens mainly because your scalp isn’t clean and dry, and with the excess of moisture, it leads to all sorts of troubles. As astounding as it may sound, don’t let it dampen your spirit.

This high-on-humidity weather is the main reason behind hair fall. Hair’s chemical structure makes it unusually sensitive to airborne hydrogen. In this weather, your hair absorbs hydrogen, forming bonds, and swells until the smooth cuticle erupts to make them frizzy.

All you need to do is to put in a little effort to take care of your hair and follow these important 11 Essential Monsoon Hair Care Tips.

11 Essential Monsoon Hair Care Tips

1 Keep your Hair Dry

While it may be tempting to step out in the rain or you may actually get caught in it, remember that as soon as you step inside your home, take the time out to wash and dry your hair. Remember that rain water is dirty and acidic, which is really bad for your hair.

Excess moisture on the scalp is like inviting infection. This is one of the 11 Essential Monsoon Hair Care Tips .

2 Shampoo Hairs 2 to 3 times a week

Shampoo your hair 2-3 times a week to keep your sticky and sweaty scalp healthy and wash off the rain water that is loaded with pollutants.

During the long monsoon month there is high oil secretion on the scalp, which makes the hair look flat at the roots. To combat this, it is essential to wash your hair regularly. Antibacterial hair shampoos and cleansers are essential for the scalp as they help fight fungal and bacterial infections.

It is easy to get frizzy, under nourished hair during monsoon and hence using a good shampoo goes a long way in nourishing your tresses and preventing fungal or bacterial infections.

3 Oil your Hairs

Oil your hair once or twice a week. Oily is good for nourishment, but doing it more often is not recommended, as your scalp is already oily due to the weather Oiling the hair naturally boosts the moisture in your hair which revitalizes dry strands and offers deep conditioning too.

4 Don’t tie hairs

By tying up your hair in the monsoon you’re inviting rain water to hibernate in your hair, which in turn will make it frizzier and limper. If you must tie your hair then go for loose ponytails and buns only.  This is also one of the 11 Essential Monsoon Hair Care Tips.

5 Use the Right Comb

In all season, it is important to use the right kind of comb. Especially if you are dealing with wet hair, use a wide tooth comb.

6 Condition your hair the right way

The right way to condition your hair is to avoid using too much conditioner and
apply conditioner only to the ends and lengths of your hair

A rich conditioner is a must to fight the frizz that rain showers bring. When applying conditioner, use a wide-tooth comb to spread it well. Remember to rinse with cold water for extra shine!

7 Waterproof is good

The best way to protect your hair in the rains is to invest some money in a good quality waterproof jacket or hoodie or can use umbrella. This is also one of the 11 Essential Monsoon Hair Care Tips which we should follow.

8 Try a Hair Accessory

Accessorise with a scarf or hairband to protect your hair from excessive moisture. It would not just cover up a bad hair day but make you look cool too.

9 Eat Right

In order to strengthen your hair follicles you must eat foods that are rich in protein, iron and omega 3 fatty acids like mackerel, salmon, walnuts, spinach and curds. This is also one of the 11 Essential Monsoon Hair Care Tips which we all should follow in order to get healthy beautiful hair.

Go easy on junk food as it leads to hair thinning. Cut down on caffeine because it dehydrates and causes hair fall. Add fresh fruits, leafy vegetables, whole grains and protein-rich foods to your plate to tackle hair fall in the rainy season. Most importantly, drink at least 8-12 glasses of water during the course of the day.

10 Go short

If you’ve ever wanted to cut your hair short but couldn’t muster up the courage, this is the ideal time. By cutting your hair short you’re reducing the hassle of maintaining it.
