Hi How’s everything? Hope you all are safe at your home. Today I’ll be reviewing The Ordinary Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG Solution that claims to reduce dark circles and puffiness.

Experience using The Ordinary Caffeine Solution 5% + ECG Solution
It comes in a dark coloured glass bottle that’s UV protected because EGCG is sensitive to light. There is a dropper with white top provided with it so you have a control over the amount of product dispensed.
It has a watery serum-like texture that is very pale golden in colour. It gets absorbed quickly but leaves slightly sticky feel for a few minutes. I need just one drop to cover both my eyes.

It has 2 main ingredients –
Caffeine works on puffiness, fights free radicals and reduces dark under eye circles and wrinkles around the eyes.
EGCG (Epigallocatechin gallate) is an antioxidant found in green tea and has anti-wrinkle effects and also reduces redness in the skin. It prevents inflammation due to UV rays.

The Ordinary Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG has a lightweight texture that absorbs fairly quickly into the skin. It did nothing for my dark circles, it hydrates my under-eye area.

I won’t recommend this eye serum if you are looking something which can help to reduce very bad dark circles and puffiness.

My under eye skin is very sensitive… Since, it does nothing for dark circles and puffiness, I will give this a miss. Thank you for reviewing.
Removing dark circles is so important, but the ordinary Caffeine Solution does not seem to be effective in this regard, even though it has good hydrating properties.
I was actually looking for a review of this product & you just helped me save some money on a non-useful under eye serum .
Thanks for a complete honest review; i don’t think it will help me much in removing dark circles .And antioxidants can be derived from other milder products as well

Thanks for the honest review. I have to say I haven’t found much in the way of useful eye serums/creams for reducing dark circles. I beleive some circles are just genetics.

Loved the way you reviewed the solution. Though it’s a good antioxidant, but I think its better to avoid it as it does nothing for dark circles and puffiness
I was a wee bit confused in your pros vs cons list cause you say Pro reduces Puffiness but then in the Cons you say does nothing for the puffiness. Kind of sad that it seems like it would have potential but yet doesn’t seem to really fulfill its purpose. Could it’s efficacy be because you are younger than perhaps the average person who really needs to reduce puffiness or dark circles?
