  1. I remember my mom and grandma blotting. I blot too. I haven’t tried the powder. Maybe I will. Couldn’t hurt.

  2. I always like a darker shade for the fall and winter. Great tips! I always find lip stain dries my lips so I’ll have to try priming them next time too!

  3. I don’t know if I’ve ever done a lip exfoliant. I should start now since mine get so dry in the winter. It’s quite a few steps to do all this, but if it lasts all day then it’s worth it!

  4. Thank you so much for these tips! I recently got a darker lipstick because I love the color, but I can’t make it work for me. I”m going to try these.

  5. oh wow, that looks good on you. good tips but I’m still in doubt if I can pull it off

  9. These are good tips. I probably should use them for when I do use dark lipstick. I really like the color you have on in the photo.

  10. I do often use lip liner with lipstick to prevent bleeding of the lipstick. I also blot to remove excess.

  11. Great tips, my daughters use these wipe things but they often complain they don’t work too well. I’ll pass this post on to them.

  12. Woah! That lip colour is so dark. I have to say that there are very few lipsticks on the market that keeps my lips moisturised. This means that there are a ton of them that leave my lips dry and within 24-48 hours my lips are cracked.

  13. I’ve never tried a lip exfoliator. They seem to have new products all the time now. These are great suggestions x

  14. I love this lip color on you. So beautiful! Also, I don’t wear lipstick but these are great tips! I didn’t know that exfoliating lips is a thing? Clearly, I need to do this. Any particular product I should try?

  15. Great tips on using dark lipstick. Using a lip primer, balm, and exfoliating is helpful indeed. Also loved the idea of keeping the eye makeup simple when using dark lipstick!
